ESPN just suspended sportswriter and host Bill Simmons for speaking out against Roger Goodell's pathetic response to the Ray Rice domestic violence case. 

In fact, Simmons is suspended for 3 weeks -- longer than Rice's initial suspension for knocking his then-fiancee unconscious. He's also suspended longer than ESPN suspended Stephen A. Smith for suggesting that Rice's fiancee was somewhat responsible for her attack. 

This is ridiculous -- but it's also a powerful moment to continue building the movement against domestic violence, and empowering the women and men who stand up to it.
