The Issue

On March 11th, a film I produced, titled 'The Optimist,' will be released nationwide, and it's based on the true story of Holocaust Survivor Herbert Heller. In the last six months, I discovered the heartbreaking truth about Holocaust Survivor poverty, especially here in the United States. Over 11,000 survivors are living in poverty, struggling every day to make ends meet. This is a distressing reality that needs our immediate attention and action.

My name is Jeanine Thomas, and I am committed to making a change. I have launched an awareness campaign dedicated to eradicating this poverty, and I promise to donate 20% of my film’s proceeds to help these survivors live their last years with dignity and respect. But I can’t do it alone. I’m calling on you to join me in this important mission.

We can make a real difference by supporting organizations that dedicate resources directly to the survivors. One such organization is Kavod SHEF (Survivors of the Holocaust Emergency Fund). They have pledged to allocate 100% of the donations directly to the survivors, and there's an incredible opportunity for your donations to be matched, effectively doubling the impact of your generosity.

The survivors have endured more horrors than most of us can imagine, and they deserve to live the rest of their lives without the burden of poverty. It is our duty as compassionate individuals to ensure they can live with dignity. Together, we can make survivor poverty in the US a reality of the past. Let us come together and show our support.

Every signature and every donation counts. Let's act now and provide the support these courageous individuals need. Please sign this petition to amplify our message and motivate others to contribute to this noble cause. Thank you for your empathy and kindness.
