On March 11th, a film I produced, titled 'The Optimist,' will be released nationwide, and it's based on the true story of Holocaust Survivor Herbert Heller. In the last six months, I discovered the heartbreaking truth about Holocaust Survivor poverty, especially here in the United States. Over 11,000 survivors are living in poverty, struggling every day to make ends meet. This is a distressing reality that needs our immediate attention and action.

My name is Jeanine Thomas, and I am committed to making a change. I have launched an awareness campaign dedicated to eradicating this poverty, and I promise to donate 20% of my film’s proceeds to help these survivors live their last years with dignity and respect.
