Eradicate Gender Inequality in Educational Opportunities

Eradicate Gender Inequality in Educational Opportunities
The Issue
My heart sank when my sister was denied the opportunity to go on a crucial school trip, whilst my brother was given permission. Such discrimination, based purely on gender differences, remains commonplace and is a raw reminder of the continuing issue of gender inequality. Thus, this petition seeks to highlight and combat gender discrimination, particularly in the educational sphere.
According to UNESCO, globally, over 132 million girls are out of school. This includes 34.3 million of primary school age, 30 million of lower-secondary school age, and 67.4 million of upper-secondary school age ("Children out of school, girls", 2018). This gap largely stems from entrenched societal norms and gender-biased policies and practices, which promote inequality. Gender should never be a determinant of the opportunities individuals receive. Instead, every individual should have equitable access to all learning experiences.
Join us in fighting for a world where gender inequality is no more, where each child, regardless of gender, can enjoy the same educational opportunities. Today, we stand for my sister and all the girls around the world who have been denied equal educational rights. Your signature can drive monumental change. Please sign the petition.
