Chatham County Schools are in a budget crisis with a multi million dollar deficit. Currently school funding is not shared equitably among schools, with some schools receiving  much lower per pupil expenditures than others.

Parents of the lower funded schools are seeking equitable distribution of county resources to adequately serve all schools with attention to  percentage of non-proficient students at each school
