Equal Representation for all Ethnicities in Clinical Trials

Equal Representation for all Ethnicities in Clinical Trials
From Me To You The Art of Survival is a cancer support group dedicated to ensuring that all cancer patients have equal representation.
Make it mandatory that clinical trials, where relevant, include all ethnicities so that we ALL have an equal chance to live.
New research has revealed significant molecular differences between the breast cells of white and Black women that help explain why Black women are much more likely to die of breast cancer.
The findings, published on February 8 in the British journal Therapeutic Advances in Medical Oncology, suggest that changing current diagnosis and treatment strategies could help address the disparity – and improve mortality rates for Black women. If different ethnicities were adequately represented in clinical trials this vital information would of been apparent and could of saved lives
As a result of the above we propose to lobby the pharmaceutical industry to make it a mandatory requirement to always have 10% of their medical trial sample from the bame community. We believe this is vitally important in safeguarding all ethnic minorities' chances of survival in battling life altering illnesses.
