Equal Parking Rights for All Residents on the Estate

The Issue

I am writing this petition to address a pressing issue that affects me as a resident living in Alders Court Parison Close.  It is disheartening to learn that only leaseholders are granted the privilege to park on the estate, while other residents like myself are left without a parking solution.

As a resident who moved into this estate in September 2022, I was promised a parking permit that would allow me to park conventionally outside my flat. This assurance was particularly important to me as I have two young children under the age of 5 and this includes a baby. However, my experience has been far from what was initially communicated.

In February 2023, I received an unexpected parking ticket which left me confused and concerned about my rights as a resident.  I received  a call from a housing  officer in June 2023 who informed me that non-leaseholders like myself do not have the right to park on the estate. This revelation came as a shock and has put me in an extremely difficult situation.

Parking up the road with two young children has proven to be challenging and inconvenient for daily activities such as grocery shopping or simply going about our daily routines. It is unfair that some residents enjoy convenient parking while others are forced into these circumstances due solely to their leaseholder status.

To address this issue and ensure equal rights for all residents, we urge you all to support this petition calling for every resident on the estate, regardless of their leaseholder status, be granted permission to park on the estate.

By signing this petition, we aim not only to rectify our own personal situations but also advocate for fairness and equality among all members of our community. Let us come together and make sure that every resident can enjoy hassle-free parking arrangements within our shared living space.

Please sign this petition if you believe it is unjustifiable for only leaseholders to have the right to park on the estate. Let us work towards a solution that benefits all residents and creates a more inclusive and equitable living environment.

Thank you for your support in this matter.

Sincerely,

Martha
