Equal Funds, Equal Futures

Equal Funds, Equal Futures
The Issue
My commitment to providing all students with an equal opportunity to quality education is personal. I strongly believe that every child, irrespective of their socioeconomic status, should have equitable access to quality education. The current funding allocation system within the Atlanta school district does not reflect these principles. I believe it needs to be reformed to better serve our children.
It's been long revealed that the funding distribution in Atlanta perpetuates inequality. According to a study conducted by the Education Law Center, Georgia's school funding is "somewhat regressive," meaning districts serving larger shares of students in poverty receive less state and local funding. This gap in resources contributes to the widening achievement gap between low-income students and their wealthier peers. We can't afford to compromise our children's future in such a manner.
I'm calling on the Atlanta Board of Education and the local government to recognize this imbalance and reform the funding allocation system. The reformation should ensure that all schools, regardless of wealth or district, receive sufficient funding. This is about equity, about giving everyone the chance to succeed.
We need to prioritize our children, their education, and their future. Please sign this petition to show your support in reforming the K-12 education funding system in Atlanta, Georgia.
Please note that this is for a school project.
