Get Rid of the Ridiculous Gas Can Law

Get Rid of the Ridiculous Gas Can Law
The Issue
Remember the old portable gas cans that worked every time you used them? Ever wonder why we now have to buy and use those new cans that spill fuel everywhere as you're struggling to get them open? Ever wonder why you can't just fill up your old [working] cans at the gas station, and why you have to take the extra time to pour gas from new (useless) cans to old ones once you get home because the station can no longer let you fill up your old cans? If you're like me, you're probably wondering why we have to put up with that shit. These new cans don't even have vents, so you get a sloppy, slugging mess that usually spills all over the hot engine you're trying to refuel. The rule is stupid. Everyone who's ever had to carry or pour gas--farmers, outdoorsmen, chainsaw owners, lawnmower owners, homeowners, car owners--knows it. Rules should only be made if there's a need, and this rule is clearly not helping us keep environmentally-friendly. (Imagine how much more gas vapor enters the air from being spilled on the ground because you're struggling with the piece of shit spout than would have entered the air in the few minutes you used an old-style [working] gas can to fill your tank.) Ever wonder why some committee in California got to decide how the entire United States has to buy gas? It doesn't have to be this way. It's a stupid rule and should be rescinded. Let's let our representatives and the EPA know we want them to fix it.
