The Issue

The issue that the whole world faces today is pollution, as residents on Earth we have a responsibility to care for the condition in which we leave it. A major form of pollution is oil being dumped and spilled into the Ocean, which destroys underwater ecosystems and endangering animals, and driving them to the point of extinction. Research done at livestrong.com shows that "an estimated one to 11% of all marine life will fall into extinction every decade from 1975 to 2015. Water pollution comes from industrial and agricultural runoff in addition presenting danger to aquatic life". As a species we are single handedly killing multiple different species of plants and animals because of our reckless behavior. Examples of our endangerment of the environment is the oil spill in the gulf of Mexico in 2010 which covered thousands of animals in oil blinding, crippling, and making them sick. The only means of low cost energy that is natural to the environment is geothermal energy, it is created within the earth, as well as it does not cost millions in environmental repair

I am asking the Environmental Protection Agency to discontinue mining of the ocean, and instead switch to a more renewable source like geothermal energy to help the environment recover. As well as to stop killing of ocean life with oil mining and wasting millions in trying to clean the ocean.

I am petitioning the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), to help encourage other forms of energy creation to prevent oil pollution and destruction of the environment. More specifically the oil mining of the ocean that spill millions of gallons of oil killing underwater animals. This is to make a better place  for the next generation and begin rebuilding the world we live on to make sure it will still be here decades in the future.
