Ensure Wilton Park Is Included and Preserved within the Wilton West Master Plan

The issue

Wilton Park has been part of the Wilton landscape for over 130 years. Built in the 1890s by Samuel Hordern, this remarkable property is one of NSW’s most intact historic stud farms — complete with brick stables, a timber round yard, coach house, and original paddock layout.

Today, as the Wilton West Precinct is being planned for rapid development, Wilton Park sits at the centre — but risks being orphaned, fenced off, or forgotten.

This is our chance to ensure Wilton Park becomes a living part of the new community, not a relic hidden behind future housing.

We’re calling on Wollondilly Council, the NSW Department of Planning, and local developers to:

  1. Include Wilton Park within the Wilton West Master Plan, with proper access and recognition.
  2. Protect and adaptively reuse its heritage buildings for public and educational purposes.
  3. Integrate open space and walking connections so future residents can enjoy this unique cultural landmark.

Wilton Park is already State Heritage Listed — but heritage protection means little if it’s isolated and left without purpose.

By including it in the master plan, we can create a place where history, environment, and community meet.

Please sign this petition to show your support for:

  • Community access, not exclusion
  • Preservation, not neglect
  • Vision, not demolition

Together, we can ensure Wilton Park remains the heart of Wilton’s story — a place of pride and connection for generations to come.
