I have younger siblings who still have a long way to go in school, and I don't want to receive a devastating call from their schools. Schools should be a place where children feel safe and secure, not where they fear for their lives. In recent years, incidents of violence in schools have been on the rise across the country. According to the Washington post there have been 404 major school shootings in columbine, and nothing is yet to be done about it.

Bridgeport must take immediate action to implement comprehensive safety measures in our schools. This includes increased mental health support, anti-bullying programs, and enhanced security protocols. Our children deserve an environment where they can focus on learning without fear.
