Statistics from the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) indicate that 30-40% of students with special needs report being bullied, reflecting a widespread and systemic issue within our education system. These numbers are alarming and highlight the urgent need for change.

Implementing regular training programs for teachers to understand and accommodate special needs, alongside clear anti-bullying policies that include consequences for harmful behavior, can significantly improve the situation. Schools need to foster inclusivity and embrace diversity through educational programs and awareness campaigns to reduce stigma.
