The Issue

I have been fighting for 17 years to formally get my Endometriosis and Adenomyosis diagnosis, battling through years of pain and disbelief. At long last, I have received the diagnosis, but now begins the daunting fight for effective treatment and symptom management. Due to these conditions, I have been dismissed from one job and am constantly at risk of losing another as I frequently need to take sick days each month to manage the devastating symptoms.

Endometriosis and Adenomyosis are chronic and often debilitating gynecological conditions that affect millions of individuals worldwide. These conditions cause severe pain, heavy bleeding, and a host of other symptoms that can be difficult to manage, particularly in a work environment. According to the World Health Organization, an estimated 10% of women of reproductive age struggle with these conditions. Despite the prevalence, many employers are unaware of the impact these diseases have on daily life and work productivity.

Consequently, countless sufferers are faced with a harsh reality: attend work despite crippling pain, or risk disciplinary action for necessary absences. This is not only unfair but detrimental to health and well-being. No one should ever have to choose between their livelihood and their health.

It is imperative that we push for change to allow those suffering from Endometriosis and Adenomyosis to take up to three days per month off work without fear of discrimination or disciplinary action. Additionally, implementing flexible working conditions, including the option to work from home during flare-ups, can significantly improve the quality of life and productivity for those affected.

Let's advocate for a compassionate approach in the workplace and ensure that no one has to suffer in silence. Please support this petition to promote understanding, provide necessary accommodations, and above all, show empathy for those dealing with Endometriosis and Adenomyosis. Sign this petition to make a tangible change and offer respite to thousands in need.
