We are first-year students eagerly anticipating our very first college fest and the memories it promises. As students who have just begun our journey at college, participating in such an event is an essential rite of passage and a vital part of our overall educational experience. The excitement and community-building opportunities that such fests bring cannot be overstated.

We understand that there have been concerns about weather conditions and some students have expressed a desire to cancel the fest this semester. However, cancelling the event would rob us of the significant opportunity to engage, learn, and connect with our peers outside the academic environment.

Our college fest is more than just an event. It symbolizes unity, creativity, and the spirit of teamwork. It fosters friendships and memories that last a lifetime. With proper preparation and some adjustments, we believe it is feasible to safely host the fest even under challenging weather conditions. Many other institutions have successfully managed similar challenges with effective planning and can serve as a model for us.

We propose moving either some or all of the events indoors, scheduling activities around predicted weather patterns, and having contingency plans in place to ensure the safety of all participants. By doing so, we can still hold our eagerly awaited fest while addressing safety concerns.

We urge our college administration to consider these viable alternatives rather than cancelling the event altogether. We believe that, with support from the administration and understanding from the student body, our fest can proceed to everyone's satisfaction.
