I am one of the many static caravan owners who are increasingly feeling preyed upon and exploited by site owners. Our situation is dire, we urgently need comprehensive legal protections to safeguard our rights and our wallets.

Caravan ownership is a significant part of British lifestyle, with the National Caravan Council reporting that there are approximately 365,000 caravan holiday homes in the UK (source: National Caravan Council). Yet, despite our large numbers, our interests are neglected, and our rights are often abused. Lacking clear regulation, site owners can impose arbitrary and exorbitant fees, leaving us with few options but to pay or lose our homes.

The Caravan Sites Act 1968 designates legal protections for residential park home owners, but fails to extend these safeguards to static caravan owners like us (source: Legislation.gov.uk). This discrepancy is not just unacceptable, it's downright unfair.

We are not asking for preferential treatment, only fairness. We are calling on lawmakers and decision-makers to revamp this antiquated law, extending its protections and establishing clear guidelines for site fees and conditions.
