Ensure Fair Evaluation for Class 10 Hindi Course B Board Exam | Request to CBSE
The Issue
I prepared sincerely for the Class 10 Hindi Course B board examination and entered the exam with confidence. However, being allotted a significantly more difficult question paper affected my performance despite the same level of preparation as other students. In board exams, where results play a crucial role in shaping academic futures, such disparities can be deeply discouraging.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the Class 10 Hindi Course B exam using multiple question paper sets. This year, there was a noticeable variation in difficulty levels among these sets. In particular, Set 4/2/3 was widely perceived as more challenging, placing students who received it at a potential disadvantage.
A student’s result should reflect their effort, understanding, and preparation—not the randomness of question paper allocation. Fair evaluation is essential to ensure equality and justice in the assessment process.
We respectfully request CBSE to consider normalization or moderation to address this imbalance and ensure that no student is unfairly penalized due to differences in paper difficulty. Such measures will help maintain trust in the examination system and uphold fairness for all students.
