I purchased extra passes for my family to enjoy the Ultra Unlock Raid event in Pokémon GO, hoping to make it a fun experience for everyone, including my child. It was a moment we had been looking forward to with great anticipation. However, our excitement was dampened when we found out that due to an app bug, our child was not compensated like the adult accounts. Though we were initially pleased with the developer's announcement of compensation for the mishap, the fact that my child received none was very confusing and upsetting.  I quit this game long ago, only to come back as a paying customer because of my child's interest in Pokemon.

This issue is not just about my family; it affects countless families who also invested their time and resources into this event. Parents everywhere paid money for their children to participate, only to be met with disappointment and inequity. The bug in the app during the Origin Forme Palkia and Dialga Ultra Unlock Raid event, which affected Niantic Kids' accounts, meant many young players missed out on receiving the shiny Origin Forme Palkia and Dialga they rightfully earned.

Niantic, as a developer, has a responsibility to ensure all paying customers are treated equally and fairly. Young players who are registered under Niantic Kids account deserve the same compensation as adult players. This oversight not only breaks the trust in the gaming community but also affects the gaming experience for children who are passionate about Pokémon GO.

We are asking Niantic to acknowledge this disparity and urgently provide equivalent compensation to all Niantic Kids' accounts, just as they did with the adult accounts. It's crucial that companies listen to their entire user base and take steps to rectify mistakes that affect specific groups disproportionately.
