Ensure Class of 2026 Cheerleaders Get Football Senior Night

The Issue

My daughter, along with her fellow seniors on the Fairfield High School cheerleading team, have been eagerly anticipating the celebration of Senior Night during the football season. For years, they have dedicated their time and energy to support the football team and promote school spirit. Now that they are in their final year, it is heartbreaking to find out that this tradition might be taken away from them.

Senior Night is not just a ceremony; it is a cherished tradition where senior athletes are honored for their years of commitment and hard work. Previous cohorts of cheerleaders have had this opportunity, and it's only fair that the class of 2026 continues to experience this milestone. More than half of the current seniors have been part of the cheerleading squad since their freshman year, building memories and contributing to the school community.

The recognition at Senior Night is a culmination of four years of effort, growth, and teamwork. It's a chance to thank the seniors for their dedication and to celebrate their achievements with peers, family, and friends. By denying this event, we are not just taking away a ceremony but also failing to acknowledge the girls' contributions to the school's culture and spirit.

We urge the Fairfield High School administration to uphold this tradition and ensure the class of 2026 cheerleaders receive the same recognition as their predecessors. This can be achieved by coordinating with event planners and ensuring timely communication with all parties involved to set a date.

Let's come together as a community to give these young women the celebration they deserve. Please sign this petition to support the Fairfield Class of 2026 cheerleaders in securing their Senior Night.
