I am a single Mom with three kids working a full-time job at the Hospital!   My job pays more than minimum wage and barely covers my rent!   I am responsible for all utilities, food, and household items for me and my kids!   No matter how hard I work at making extra money I am never able to cover the monthly costs for me and my family!  What happened to America being the Land of the Free?!  Americans are suffering and something has to change!!  The United States spends billions of dollars to get oil in different countries and can't spend billions to help the citizens of America live an affordable and enjoyable life?!

**Here's what we can do:**

1. **Increase Federal Housing Initiatives:** The government must prioritize housing by investing more in programs like Section 8 and the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) to ensure that families aren't burdened with crippling expenses.

2. **Enact Rent Control

Measures:** Cities and states need to approve policies that limit excessive rent hikes, providing stability for renters and families.

3. **Encourage Affordable

Housing Construction:** By reducing bureaucratic red tape and providing incentives to builders, we can accelerate the construction of affordable homes aimed at low- and middle-income earners.

4. **Expand Tenant Protections:** 

Affordable housing benefits everyone. When people have a safe, stable place to live, communities thrive. Families are able to focus on education, work, and health rather than the stress of housing insecurity.
