The Issue

In the span of just two months, six cows have tragically lost their lives due to inadequate access to food and water in the open range areas of Black Canyon City, AZ. This distressing situation has deeply affected members of the community as these animals, who rely on us for basic needs, have endured undue suffering.

Cattle left to graze in open ranges are supposed to have a sustainable and humane environment to thrive. However, the reality is far from this expectation. The lack of proper nutrition and hydration has not only resulted in the untimely deaths of these cows but has also created unsafe conditions that could potentially harm other livestock and the local ecosystem.

According to the Humane Society, livestock should have continuous access to clean, fresh water and should receive a diet that ensures their health and well-being. Sadly, the current conditions in Black Canyon City are failing to meet these necessary standards.

We urge local authorities and ranchers to take immediate action by implementing measures to ensure cattle are provided with adequate food and water. It is crucial to regularly monitor the water sources and improve feeding programs to prevent further tragedies.

With your support, we can call upon the relevant stakeholders to enforce stricter regulations and provide the necessary resources to secure the well-being and safety of cattle in our community. Animals deserve better, and together we can make a change.

Please join me in urging our community and local government to understand the severity of this issue and to take the steps needed to safeguard these animals. Your signature can drive the change necessary to prevent further losses and improve the conditions for cattle in Black Canyon City. Sign this petition and let us advocate for these voiceless creatures.
