Enhance Woodland Bridge with Community Gardens

Enhance Woodland Bridge with Community Gardens
The Issue
Over the past couple years, I've poured my heart and soul into creating a beautiful garden just outside my patio, reaching around out to the bridge at the corner of Woodland and 7th in East Vancouver. This isn't just any garden… it's a symbol of hope and joy. Every day, I see the smiles it brings to the faces of children, parents, and passersby. It radiates magical energy, turning an ordinary stroll into something extraordinary.
Donations from this website don’t go to the project it goes to change.org so if you wish to support message me directly😁
My vision is to extend this magic further along the Woodland Bridge, making it a safer and more inviting space for everyone. Imagine a lush, vibrant garden spanning the length of the bridge, designed with thoughtful planters that beautify our neighborhood while ensuring the safety of both cyclists and pedestrians.
Implementing more green spaces will not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of East Vancouver but also contribute positively to our environment. Studies have shown that urban green spaces can reduce pollution, decrease stress levels, and increase community cohesion. As our city grows, prioritizing green communal areas is more important than ever.
A community-built garden along Woodland Bridge would serve as a beautiful nexus of nature in our landscape, fostering connections among residents and enriching our city’s cultural and natural heritage. It would provide a vibrant, ecological corridor for our city's wildlife, which is crucial considering the rapid urban development around us. I want to ensure that all bikers coming through will have lots of space to move freely, in fact it’s an idea that will also hopefully stop the non emergency, everyday cars from speeding through.
To make this dream a reality, we need the support of our local government, community organizations, and fellow residents. The potential for a greener and safer space is right around the corner, literally and figuratively, but it requires collaborative effort. Free support is all that’s needed, just a sign to advocate for the continuation of the beautification.
By signing this petition, you're not just supporting the growth of a garden; you're endorsing a vision of East Vancouver as a city that values safety, community, and nature. Join us in this journey to transform the Woodland Bridge into a beacon of beauty and community spirit. Sign the petition and let’s work together to spread a little more magic across the bridge!
More plants ! More life and community, possibly a bench or two for gazing out at the view!
Addition, the donate button is actually for donating to the websites company not the Garden expansion, so if you feel inspired to donate which is so kind, either use my email or come see me at the bridge 😁 you are welcome to contact me via email to ask. But yes the donate button on the website Does Not go towards the garden.
