Enhance the Hyper Training Feature in Pokémon Video Games

The Issue

The Pokémon franchise, with over 300 million games sold worldwide, has been a beloved part of our childhoods and continues to entertain us today. However, one feature that needs improvement is the Hyper Training system in the main series video games. Currently, this feature only allows players to recalibrate their Pokémon's Individual Strength (IV) to its maximum value. This limitation often makes it extremely time-consuming for competitive players to catch Pokémon with the right IVs, which is one of the reasons many newcomers find competitive Pokémon difficult to pick up. For instance, some Pokémon want a IV of 0 in Speed to have the best chance of moving first in Trick Room. The only way to obtain a 0 IV is to catch a Pokémon that naturally has it, which can sometimes take hours.

In addition, if players want to use a different value of the IV, they must obtain a different Pokémon of the species. This task becomes extremely onerous for Legendary Pokémon that can only be caught once per save file.

We propose an enhancement that would allow players to adjust their Pokémon's IVs to any value, not just the maximum. This change would provide more flexibility for trainers who want to fine-tune their team's stats for competitive play.
