The Issue

I used to look forward to bringing my children to POW/MIA Park in Linda, California. We could play and enjoy the fresh air. Unfortunately, it has reached a point where I no longer feel comfortable doing so. Trashcans are frequently overflowing, playground equipment is outdated or even broken, and there is always litter scattered. This is not the welcoming or safe environment that our community deserves.

POW/MIA Park is one of the few recreational areas available to us in Linda, CA and the only park in the Edgewater community. It's a vital space for families, children, and the community as a whole. Keeping it clean and well-maintained is essential for ensuring that everyone can enjoy it safely. The dilapidated state of the playground equipment poses safety risks to children, while the overflowing trashcans and litter detract from the park's natural beauty and can harm the environment.

We are calling on local authorities to take immediate action. Firstly, regular trash collection should be increased to prevent the build-up of garbage around the park. Secondly, funds should be allocated to repair or replace outdated and broken playground equipment to ensure the safety of its youngest visitors. Lastly, we propose that a community clean-up day be organized in collaboration with local residents to restore the park's condition and foster a sense of communal pride in maintaining it.

By taking these steps, Linda can ensure that POW/MIA Park remains a place where families can feel safe and welcomed. Our children deserve a safe, clean, and fun environment to play in. Your support is vital. Please sign this petition to show that you care about the quality and safety of our local park.
