Being an Aussie citizen, I have a deep-rooted love for our country. However, our nation's defence capabilities are subpar, which is surprising given we are a continent and one of the largest countries worldwide. To ensure our nation's safety and security, it's only logical that we possess a strong military.

Australia currently ranks 19th in the world as per Global Firepower's 2021 Military Strength Ranking. This ranking does not do justice to the stature of our nation. Our military personnel's strength comprises approximately 0.2% of our population, which is 25.36 million people as of 2020. This disproportionate representation can lead to vulnerabilities in our defense system.

We must take the necessary steps to enhance our military strength, including improving our defense technology, increasing our defense budget, and recruiting and training more military personnel. We call on the Australian government to recognize and act upon this need for robust defense capabilities. By doing so, we can ensure that Australia continues to be a safe and secure place for its citizens and holds a formidable position on the global stage.
