I am a resident of Fort Wayne, IN and this experience in our schools has made me realize the urgent need for stricter regulations in our education system to protect students from such incidents.

In the United States, one in ten students will experience some form of sexual misconduct by a school employee between kindergarten and 12th grade (Shakeshaft, C., "Educator Sexual Misconduct: A Synthesis of Existing Literature," 2004). This statistic is alarming and unacceptable.

We demand that all schools in Fort Wayne enforce a zero-tolerance policy towards inappropriate physical contact between teachers and students. Any teacher found guilty should face immediate termination to ensure the safety and well-being of our children.
