Enforce Transparency in Legislation: No More Hidden Agendas

The Issue

As an American citizen, I am deeply troubled by the lack of clear and transparent legislation processes in Congress and the Senate. Too often, crucial legislation comes attached to unrelated addendum which harbor hidden agendas that can influence the utilization of American taxpayer money. This issue is personal to me because I believe that we, as Americans, have the right to stop our government from increasing our debt without full disclosure and accountability. We have a right to know what’s in a bill and how our money is spent.

Our plea is straightforward: make it mandatory for all bills to be single, with no additional irrelevant clauses. This will ensure that every bill addresses a single issue, consequently avoiding distractions from main objectives and the potential misuse of funds. A study by the Congressional Research Service revealed that of 3,791 bills proposed in the 113th Congress, a shocking 57% had at least one other bill appended to it. This status quo is not acceptable; our hard-earned money deserves accountability.

We owe it to ourselves and the generations to come to strive for a transparent, accountable legislation process where all bills stand alone. No hidden agendas. No additional fluff. Just the bare facts that serve the interests of Americans. This petition aims to propel our concerns to the forefront, demanding our representatives' attention to transparency in legislation. Sign this petition to make your voice heard, to demand transparency, and help save our future.
