enforce TENN. CODE ANN. § 33-6-602 in regards to Dianna K. Rickey
The Issue
NO DONATIONS NEEDED! Just signatures
This petition was created to try and bring attention and alert the proper authorities to the concern of the rapid decline of a mentally ill woman. This young woman lives in Murfreesboro Tennessee. Her name is Dianna Rickey and she live streams her entire life 24/7 on social media platforms. She is currently 36 years old, a prior meth addict who now has permanent brain damage caused by a lot of her drug usage. She states she has been diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder, schizophrenia, bipolar, hyper religious, anxiety and mania. She is homeless by choice. She has a loving family who awaits her willingness to seek the proper help to live a more meaningful healthy life. They too have tried talking with doctors, judges, police and lawyers on options that are available to them to try and help their loved one. As she refuses any and all help stating she is fine. All have been met with dead ends. She has declined so much so that she is not able to take care of herself any longer. She cannot remind herself to bathe, eat, sleep or take the prescribed medication by the countless mental hospital stays she’s had. The mental hospital refuses to take further action to help this young lady by stating that if they can stabilize her during her stay with them then they must release her. So yet again back to the streets she goes with no follow up plan to monitor her well being or health. Once she is released she either refuses to take the prescribed medication, does not take the proper dosages, all together does not pick up the medication because she can’t complete the task of getting there, no money or loses them. She has had numerous domestic violence charges from her erratic mental state where she has hurt individuals that have befriended her and tried to help. She is currently on felony domestic probation for striking another homeless man to the point she broke his rib. Just this month alone (July 2024) she has been taken into the hospital 4 times for her mental state. If something is not done soon she is going to end up dead or seriously hurting/killing another individual.
By putting this petition together we are hoping that the 18,000 followers she has on her social media platforms and anyone else that has encountered her that they would take the time to sign and speak up as a witness to the rapid decline of this woman’s life. If we all recognize there is a dire need for intervention in this woman’s life maybe all of our concerns will finally be taken serious by someone of authority that can do something.
This petition is being started to ask the individuals in authority (judge, doctors, probation officer) of Rutherford County Tennessee to enforce TENN. CODE ANN. § 33-6-602 in regards to Dianna K. Rickey. (1) on the basis of a review of the person's history before and during hospitalization, the hospital staff concludes that: (A) the person has a mental illness or serious emotional disturbance or has a mental illness or serious emotional disturbance in remission, (B) the person's condition resulting from mental illness or serious emotional disturbance is likely to deteriorate rapidly to the point that the person will pose a likelihood of serious harm under § 33-6-501 unless treatment is continued, (C) the person is likely to participate in outpatient treatment with a legal obligation to do so, (D) the person is not likely to participate in outpatient treatment unless legally obligated to do so, and (E) mandatory outpatient treatment is a suitable less drastic alternative to commitment, THEN (2) the person shall be eligible for discharge subject to the obligation to participate in any medically appropriate outpatient treatment, including, but not limited to, psychotherapy, medication, or day treatment, under a plan approved by the releasing facility and the outpatient qualified mental health professional.
I believe that Dianna K. Rickey has mental illness and as a result of that mental illness, this individual
• Is acutely psychotic (e.g., hearing voices, paranoid) and based on hospitalization or Assisted outpatient treatment on their sense of reality may do something that would harm themselves or others (e.g., someone experience paranoia may harm someone they falsely believe is trying to harm them).
Individuals experiencing psychosis without recognizing self-injury, desire to harm others. the symptoms require immediate treatment to prevent harm to self or others.
As a result of that mental illness, the individual is unable to attend to those basic physical needs that must be attended to in order to avoid serious harm in the near future, and has demonstrated that inability by failing to attend to those basic physical needs.
Not eating, bathing
Not taking medication for a health problem that will worsen without the medication
This individual's judgment is so impaired by that mental illness, and whose lack of understanding of the need for treatment has caused her to demonstrate an unwillingness to voluntarily participate in or adhere to treatment that is necessary, on the basis of competent clinical opinion, to prevent a relapse or harmful deterioration of his or her condition, and presents a substantial risk of significant physical or mental harm to the individual or others.
Please help me by signing this petition in regard to Dianna K Rickey and her current mental state. NO DONATIONS needed just signatures so we may try and bring attention to this situation with the right people.
