In Romblon, Philippines, there is a growing concern about students not adhering to the school's uniform policy and using cellphones during class hours. This behavior disrupts the learning environment and undermines the discipline instilled by educational institutions. According to a study conducted by the London School of Economics, banning mobile phones in schools resulted in an improvement of test scores by 6.4% (London School of Economics, 2015). Furthermore, uniforms have been found to promote equality among students and reduce distractions related to clothing choices (American Psychological Association). We call on school administrators in Romblon to strictly enforce policies regarding proper uniform use and restrict cellphone usage during class hours for better academic performance.
