Enforce Quieter Practices for Residential Lawn Service Companies

The Issue

I am personally plagued by the excessive noise resulting from the operations of residential lawn service companies in my area. Despite not personally using these services, I, along with many others, am subjected to a startling level of noise that disrupts the peace and tranquility of our homes. Unfortunately, this is not a problem unique to my community.

Across the nation, leaf blowers and lawnmowers, the primary culprits in this noise pollution issue, operate at levels around 70-80 decibels (source: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention). This is comparable to the noise of a running vacuum cleaner or a busy traffic road - noises that are frankly not compatible with a peaceful residential setting.

In light of this, our petition proposes the following measures to remedy this situation: Firstly, we call on our local government to mandate decibel limits for commercial equipment in residential zones. Secondly, we request that the use of mufflers or quiet equipment becomes obligatory. Lastly, we believe that encouraging lawn service companies to transition to electric equipment could further reduce this persistent noise. Incentives could be a powerful tool to encourage this transition.

By addressing this issue, we not only reclaim the tranquility of our homes but also subtly promote a greener, healthier environment through reduced noise and air pollution. Therefore, we respectfully request your support in signing and spreading the word about this petition. We can make our voice count - with less noise.
