Enforce gym contract terms in Burnaby - Vitality Fitness

Enforce gym contract terms in Burnaby - Vitality Fitness
The Issue
It has come to our attention that contracts provided by a prominent gym in Burnaby, BC, are being flagrantly violated by the facility's management. Many of us members, including myself, have signed a binding agreement to pay $32 every bi-weekly cycle for a whole year. Unreasonably, the gym has increased this rate to $50 every two weeks, breaking their contractual commitment and imposing an unjust financial burden on its patrons.
Contract breaches by businesses diminish consumer trust and reflect poorly on community standards. This behaviour is not only unethical but also illegal according to consumer protection laws in British Columbia. Under these laws, it is essential that the original terms of a signed contract are honoured unless agreed otherwise by both parties involved. The unilateral decision of the gym administrators to enforce a rate change without consent violates these principles and must be corrected immediately.
Moreover, the management's decision to delete reviews and comments discussing this increase further demonstrates an evasion of accountability and transparency. This lack of openness is concerning, and it creates an environment where consumers’ voices are silenced and their rights diminished.
We demand that the relevant consumer protection bodies in Burnaby, BC, investigate this matter and hold the gym accountable. We call on the gym management to restore the original pricing terms and ensure that all contractual agreements are honoured moving forward. Furthermore, clear channels must be established to allow customers to express concerns without fear of censorship.
By signing this petition, you stand with those in Burnaby affected by this unethical practice and support our call for just business operations that respect contractual agreements. Your voice counts and your support can drive change towards fair and honest treatment at our local gym. Please sign and share this petition to restore fairness and integrity in our community's business dealings.
