We are the students of JFK Middle School in the town of Enfield CT. We believe that band and orchestra practice should be brought back in a safe manner, and we have a few ideas.

We believe some ways to make band safer are to use blowhole masks, have band outside, and fundraise for individual tents. If we have blowhole masks then the air from our instruments is less likely to escape into the enviroment. If we have band outside there is more room to space out. If we fundraise for tents, then when you combine with the blowhole masks, there isn't much way for air to escape unless it's controlled. And even IF it does escape, if band is held outdoors it escapes from a distance. 

On the orchestra side of things, there is absolutely no air coming from the instrument. If you combine that with six feet, it's safe.

One more thing we would like to ask you, if physical education and sports are safe, how come band isn't safe. Combine band with these safety measures listed above, and some would argue it's safer than how enfield is approaching sports
