The Issue

Although this is a local campaign at Edmonton, Enfield, London, England, this is a global issue of EFW energy from waste. TheNorth London Waste Authority gasification project that has been spewing health-damaging microparticles, plastics, metals and carbon over the plume area I was born, brought up and still live in, for 50 years since 1970. The local Edmonton waste incinerator is planned to be replaced with an Enfield Ecopark (specified for only up to 50% of waste, currently recycling only up to 30%) and new larger and better gasification incinerator (specified at 700,000 Tonnes pa) filtering no more than a limited amount of waste particles, toxic plastics, metals etc. a limited amount CO2 collected from the chimney, while planting a few thousand additional trees, and claiming to encourage and facilitate recycling at the curbside, and with local industries and retail, with brief cheap PR stunts.

This new incinerator, for the next 50 years, to 2070, specified at 700,000 Tonnes of CO2 (not exaggerating), NLWA and NLHeatPowerProject. Councils boasting it is the largest in UK; and safest more cost effective  etc., this is patently not true. This is gasification incineration of 'residual' waste from the Ecopark, that to meet incinerator feed levels and not have to be switched-off Now! must currently burn recycling that residents in good faith have put out for recycling.

While residents are blamed for 'contaminating' our own recycling.

So, the incinerator then has to, and will have to continue to burn in greater quantity, burn more waste, pollute more air, globally.

Recycle, reuse and re-make!

This is a global issue, climate and waste crisis, that we must, and can solve realistically not to get to carbon neutral, but carbon zero, zero waste. 100%Ecoparks (go to Iceland!).

Autoclaving (not mentioned in comparison by NLWA or NLHPP, but used locally in small-scale remanufacture of plastic bags from retail etc.) Ecoparks, in all the 7 boroughs covered by the NLWA and NLH&PP Energetik for Edmonton, Enfield, Waltham Forest, Haringey, Islington, Camden, Barnet.

Local heat and power from clean energy and clean air recycling capture and reuse/reduction to 0% of all new plastic manufacturing, in the industrial poorer areas where these incinerators are now already built (UK 50+ 10+,000s globally); and being proposed, many not yet starting build this is why this issue is important, now).

In Edmonton's local case incineration re-built bigger and better and apparently, safer, again, will commence 2021. Without any oversight by the people. Until XR, and now the councils are clearly continuing to be mis-led and mis-informed by NLWA and NLHPP referring only to carbon neutral by 2050, 2040? 2030? and in a hurry to get going after ludicrous payouts to CEO and private companies with government money, our taxes.

Net zero-waste...from the realistic Ecopark 100% alternatives to incineration.

Councils Misled over cost (no surprise there) £500,000 to £1.2. BILLION!!! taking the ****, and trousering the rest.

The alternatives (not environmentally assessed or mentioned anywhere by NLWA/NLHPP) are much much cheaper. Getting paid for free extra energy!

Autoclaving (as used now in the small scale recycling industries in the Lea Valley and elsewhere) and unseparated curbside dry and wet waste re-manufacturing, far from expensive, or contaminating, is far more efficient and effective at reducing greenhouse gasses and recovering plastic/metal pollution, where we live, and want to continue living.

This is a global climate crisis and change issue.

Our majority shareholder appointed CEO and senior business managers, and local councils. Civil Servants and Governments are deliberately misleading us...

Globally, I am asking as many of them, of politicians, MP's, local councillors and the people, globally,

welcome to sign

Stop! The Edmonton Incinerator Re-Build Now! For safer happier, warmer people.

Thank you...X
