End Unjust Practices by Child Protective Services (CPS)

End Unjust Practices by Child Protective Services (CPS)
The Issue
As a recent victim, I want to amply highlight the distressing issue at hand. My two precious grandbabies were taken away by the Child Protective Services. This ordeal is not limited to my family; countless others have experienced the heartbreak and anxiety over knowing their children are under the care of strangers who, regrettably, do not always prioritize the child's wellbeing. There have been instances of children experiencing abuse in foster care, something my grandchildren have already endured. CPS workers have been reportedly dishonest in their processes, making the ordeal seem even more like a heartless kidnapping ring.
Child Protection Services, certainly a necessary institution, should stand for the protection and upliftment of children in problematic situations. However, stories like mine indicate a grave misuse of power, especially against families that cannot afford an attorney. According to a study conducted by the Children's Bureau, an agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, over 120,000 children were sent to foster homes in 2019. Many of these cases were possibly due to financial inability to contest the CPS decisions rather than actual child endangerment.
The inherent purpose of CPS is critically essential, but the appalling corruption and targeting practices cannot go unnoticed. There lies a desperate need for an overhaul, for checks and balances to ensure that the CPS upholds its mission, and families are no longer subjected to arbitrary and unwarranted child removals.
This petition is a plea for CPS to stop and reconsider their actions, to stop targeting poor families, to re-evaluate their procedures, and to infuse a sense of honesty in their operations. Let's unite to end this distressing situation and stand for fairness, justice, and compassion in children's services. Please sign this petition to make a difference.
Help put a stop to false accusers with better screening of the reporting parties.
