The Problem

The Coast to Valley Express bus could allow Newport, Toledo and and Corvallis residents to connect to the Amtrak train going to Portland. Then they could comfortably right the train and not have to drive to Portland.

However, the schedules aren't aligned!!! As you can see below, there is not clean transfer from the bus to the train!!

Portland Union to Albany Amtrak train arrivals in Albany

• 12:55 pm and 4:11 pm and 7:50 pm

From Albany Amtrak: Coast to Valley Express line departures

• 6:15 am and 10:30 am and 3:15 pm

To Albany Amtrak:  Coast to Valley Express line arrivals

• 6:05 am and 10:22 am

Albany Amtrak to Portland Union train departures from Albany

• 8:26 am and 1:23 pm and 5:11 pm

The Solution

Ask the Benton Area Transit department to align the bus schedule to the Amtrak schedule to enable fast and convenient connection to Amtrak trains going to/from Portland
