End the Mistreatment of Calves at Fort Worth Stockyard Station.

The Issue

Each time I witness the brutalization of helpless calves at the Fort Worth Stockyard Station, my heart aches. Seeing those vulnerable animals chased, lassoed - an act that chokes them - and then aggressively tied up, pierces me deeply. It is difficult to comprehend how, in a civilized society, we allow such a lack of empathy to persist. Without empathy, there is suffering - and the suffering is palpable in the terrified eyes of these baby cows.

More so when the facts become clear. Numerous studies suggest that calves, even at a young age, experience fear and stress when exposed to such treatments. A study conducted by the University of British Columbia's Animal Welfare Program states that calves exposed to such stress have a high mortality rate and develop a fear of humans who handle them.

This petition is not just about stopping one distressing act at a popular tourist attraction; it is about shifting our attitudes towards the way we treat animals. It is about imagining a world where we respect the innocence, vulnerability, and lives of all creatures we share the earth with.

That's why we're asking the Fort Worth Stockyard Station to stop the mistreatment of calves during their rodeo shows and to demonstrate leadership in reforming practices that cause unnecessary harm to animals. Our collective action can lead to monumental change; we owe it to these young lives to try. Please sign our petition to ensure calves at the Fort Worth Stockyard Station are treated with the respect and care they deserve.
