Our plea begins with a heartbreaking story of Viola, an intelligent elephant who has been subjected to the harsh realities of circus life. Viola has attempted to escape her captors three times - in 2010, 2014 and most recently in 2024. This is a testament to the unbearable conditions these animals are forced into for our so-called 'entertainment'.

Circuses around the world continue to exploit animals like Viola, subjecting them to rigorous training methods and poor living conditions. According to Animal Defenders International (ADI), many circus animals exhibit signs of severe stress and psychological dysfunction as a result.

The time has come for us as a society to take action against this form of animal abuse. We must demand that governments worldwide enforce laws prohibiting the use of animals in circuses. By doing so, we can ensure that no more elephants like Viola will have to endure such suffering.
