The Issue

In many parts of Nigeria and Africa, LGBTQ people live in fear. Because same-sex relationships are criminalized under the Same-Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Act, many victims cannot safely report violence or extortion to the police.

There have been repeated reports of gay Nigerians,Moroccan's & Ugandans being lured through dating apps or social media, then beaten, tortured, or blackmailed by groups who know their victims cannot seek help without risking arrest themselves. When your identity is treated as a crime, justice becomes impossible, In Uganda people can literally be sentenced to life in imprisonment for  being gay because they can't kill them.

This is no joke it's serious situation we need to attend to , across the world, Gay/Lesbian individual's have faced rejection and even tragic loss through sucide because of stigma. The story of Bobby Griffith shows how damaging this can be. After being told his sexuality was sinful and that he needed prayer and counseling to change, he tried desperately to become someone he was not, praying to God to change him , but God didn't cuz they was nothing wrong with him. Feeling rejected and believing even God condemned him, he died by sucide after jumping from a bridge.

Gay and Lesbians exist in every culture, race, and nation. They should not be punished, tortured, or imprisoned for something they cannot control. Human dignity and safety should apply to everyone.

If criminalizing homosexuality is about  relgion or calling it a sin ,

Let me ask you something what's not a sin? Is it a crime? But gay/Lesbian act are criminal offence.

If you believe in the Bible, then you probably know the verse where God says He forms people in their mother’s womb. In Book of Psalms it says God knits a person together before they’re even born.

So let’s follow that logic.

If God designs people in the womb… then that includes gay people too.

And science shows sexual orientation isn’t something people randomly choose. It’s influenced by biological things like hormones, brains structure, and genetics it's a neurological development determined by hormones and genetics,  this hormone, genetics and brain structure are found in 2 out of 10 men/women

So this people exist in every race in every culture in every nationality, it could be your brother it could be your sister or your future child so you need to fight for there right

So if someone is born gay and God designed them in the womb then according to that belief system, God designed them that way.

And believers also say God is all-knowing.

All-powerful.

And perfect.

So how can a perfect God make a mistake in someone’s design?

He can’t.

Now let’s look at the Qur'an.

In Surah At-Tin it says that humans are created in the best form.

So if humans are created in the best form… that includes everyone.

Not just straight people.

Not just people who fit into society’s expectations.

Everyone.

And yet people still claim that gay people are somehow a mistake or broken by religious logic 🤔.

And this is why the conversation matters far beyond religion

Across parts of Africa, people are still criminalized simply for being who they are.

Laws punish individuals not for harming anyone, but for existing with a different sexual orientation.

That’s why we must sign to push The  African Union to take this issue seriously and push governments to prioritize human rights, dignity, and equality under the law.

Because when a state criminalizes people for something that is part of their nature, it is not defending morality  it is denying humanity. Free The Gay/Lesbians in Africa They deserve freedom like others.

Thanks for your time
