The Issue

Petition in Support of Frontline Staff at Children's Mental Health of Leeds and Grenville.

Every signature sends a message that our community values frontline mental health workers and wants a fair resolution to this labour dispute.

We, the undersigned, stand in support of the frontline staff of Children's Mental Health of Leeds and Grenville as they work toward achieving a fair collective agreement.

For years, these dedicated professionals have provided essential mental health services to children, youth, and families throughout our community. They have built trusting relationships, supported families through crises, and worked tirelessly to improve the mental health and well-being of those they serve.

The frontline staff currently on strike did not make this decision lightly. They care deeply about their clients and families and want nothing more than to return to providing the services their community relies on. Their goal is to reach a fair deal that recognizes the value of their work and supports the recruitment and retention of qualified mental health professionals.

During this labour dispute, the essential services that Children’s Mental Health of Leeds and Greenville provide have been discontinued while management continues to receive full pay. At a time when community members are without the support they need, we believe all parties should be focused on reaching a fair and reasonable agreement as quickly as possible.

The frontline staff are not asking for special treatment—they are seeking fair compensation and equitable working conditions that reflect the important work they do every day. A fair agreement will help ensure that experienced mental health professionals remain in our community, allowing children and families to continue receiving the quality care they deserve.

We call upon the leadership and Board of Directors of Children's Mental Health of Leeds and Grenville to engage meaningfully in the bargaining process and work toward a fair settlement that allows frontline staff to return to serving the community.
