I am a hardworking citizen, like many others in Britain, who despite having skills and qualifications, struggle to afford a basic comfortable life. This is not just my story but echoes the sentiments of almost everyone I meet in the working industry. We work tirelessly only to have significant deductions made from our paychecks by our government - a government that we feel does not adequately represent or look out for us.

The tax burden on UK workers is high with an average worker in the UK paying around 30% of their gross salary in taxes (source: OECD). This leaves many struggling to meet basic living costs. We believe it's time for this to change.

We are calling on our government to opt out and end these deductions until decisions start being made that better serve us - the hardworking people of Britain. It's time for us, as citizens, to take a stand against what we view as an unfair process within our ‘democratic’ government.
