As a dedicated console gamer, I am deeply frustrated by Sony's practice of charging PlayStation console gamers to play online while PC gamers are allowed to do so for free. This impacts millions of PlayStation users worldwide who are forced to pay additional fees just to enjoy their games online. 

Sony has recently made changes in response to the PC community's concerns about signing up for a free account, demonstrating that they can and will adjust their policies when pressured. Yet, we as console gamers continue to bear the financial burden of supporting both platforms with our hard-earned money.

This is not only unfair but also disrespectful towards us as loyal customers. We deserve equal treatment and should not be considered second-class citizens in the gaming world.

According to Statista, there were approximately 102 million active users on PlayStation Network (PSN) worldwide in 2020. If even a fraction of these users are paying unnecessary fees for online play, this amounts to a significant financial burden placed on us by Sony.

It's time we take a stand against this unjust practice and demand change from Sony. We call upon them to stop charging console gamers for online play - either everyone pays or no one does.
