The major grocery chain VONS recently started selling shark meat. Help me put an end to this! While thresher sharks are not yet endangered, their status is vulnerable. It may be legal in the US to consume shark meat, but the FDA strongly recommends against it due to the high levels of mercury in the meat. Sharks are apex predators that keep the ocean ecosystems in balance. We need them alive in the ocean, not packaged at our local grocery stores!
