The Issue
I am writing this petition to highlight a distressing incident of racial profiling and discrimination that I personally experienced at the Ramada by Wyndham Reno Hotel & Casino in Reno, Nevada. I had a three-day prepaid reservation, and upon arrival, I was upgraded to a king room. Unfortunately, the following day, everything took a troubling turn.
I received a call from the front desk informing me that I was required to either pay an upgrade fee or check out of my room immediately. Despite assuring them that I would comply after taking a shower, the front desk staff escalated the situation, eventually yelling at me and stating that I was no longer welcome at the hotel. This led to my unjust removal from the premises without a refund or an alternative place to stay.
This experience was deeply humiliating and distressing. I felt harassed and threatened, and I believe that this treatment was based on racial profiling. Sadly, I am not alone. Many people have experienced similar discrimination, and it is time that we take a stand.
Racial profiling and discrimination have no place in our society, and it is imperative that businesses, especially those in the hospitality industry, uphold principles of fairness and respect for all guests, irrespective of their race or background.
I call upon Ramada by Wyndham Reno Hotel & Casino to investigate this incident thoroughly and implement stronger policies and training programs to prevent such behavior in the future. Additionally, an apology and rightful compensation should be provided for the distress and inconvenience caused.
Please sign this petition to demand accountability from Ramada by Wyndham Reno and ensure that all guests are treated equitably and with respect. Together, we can make a change and put an end to racial discrimination in the hospitality industry.
