WE the people of the United States are tired of cops literally getting away with murder and violating our rights with zero accountability. It is well passed time to end qualified immunity for members of law enforcement. Police must be able to be held accountable when they blatantly disregard the law. Colorado has already successfully ended qualified immunity. It's time the rest of the country catch-up and follow suit. Without qualified immunity police can finally be held accountable for their crimes and then perhaps they will stop to think before committing those crimes. As it stands now, cops have zero accountability so they have zero reason to change their behavior. 

Once we end qualified immunity we need to ensure each and every law enforcement officer carries personal liability insurance so that WE the people (& taxpayers) are no longer responsible for paying for the millions of dollars in lawsuits filed against police every day. Insurance companies will eventually refuse to cover cops that cost them money and when those cops can no longer find coverage, they can no longer be an officer of the law. 

Law enforcement should be held to a higher standard than the rest of us. Instead, they have become a lawless gang that doesn't have to abide by any laws. Because they have no consequences when they break the law.

 Perhaps they break laws so often because they don't know the laws? To ensure that isn't the case, we need to insist on better training. As it stands, the police academy focuses mainly on weapons, tactical equipment and "physical compliance maneuvers". It's time to change that. WE the people need to insist that their academy hours be spent learning the laws that they are responsible for enforcing. Most of them do not know our first, second, fourth and fifth amendments. Those are the very amendments that deal specifically with their job. Not knowing them is simply unacceptable. WE the people have certain unalienable rights that MUST be protected so law enforcement MUST be well aware of those rights. 

If our "justice" system doesn't go through significant change we are at a point of no return. WE the people are tired of being hurt and killed by those who used to protect and serve. WE the people are tired of having our rights violated. So WE the people demand these changes and demand they occur in a timely manner. WE the people pay your paychecks and WE the people are demanding an overhaul if you wish to continue receiving those paychecks.
