The Issue

Why do these individuals get placed in protective custody, why do they deserve that? No one protected the innocent children they harmed from them! People, these are our children, and we're footing the bill for the monsters that harm them!

Pedophiles have committed heinous acts against the most vulnerable members of our society—our children. These acts cause irreparable damage to the victims' lives and add a tremendous burden on their families and communities. Yet, when pedophiles are incarcerated, they are granted protective custody to shield them from the same dangers they inflicted on others. This practice not only insults the victims and their families but also sends the wrong message about justice and accountability.

The current system provides additional safety measures and resources to individuals who have betrayed the trust of our society's most vulnerable. The children who suffered had no protection when they needed it the most. It's time for our justice system to reflect the severity of their crimes and stop offering privileges like protective custody that give them more care and resource allocation than their victims ever received.

Statistics show that rehabilitation rates for sex offenders, particularly child abusers, are alarmingly low. According to a study published in the scientific journal "Laws" in 2019, the recidivism rate for sexual offenders within five years post-release is nearly 14%. Allocating resources to protect individuals who are statistically likely to re-offend is a misuse of taxpayer money, which could instead be invested in victim support services or prevention programs.

We are calling on lawmakers and the prison authorities to revise their policies regarding the protective custody of convicted pedophiles. It's vital that we reconsider the practice of allowing them such protections within our prison systems. We must prioritize the safety and resources for the victims and potential future victims over those who have committed unspeakable crimes.

Demand that justice be served effectively and fairly. Please sign this petition to end protective custody for pedophiles in our prisons and redirect those resources to more deserving areas.
