In our community and across the world, too many people face this relentless battle to secure the necessities of life. Food, shelter, education, and healthcare – these fundamental rights are often unachievable for those living in poverty. It's not just an issue of inconvenience; it's a barrier to progress and a brighter future for many.
According to the World Bank, nearly 700 million people globally live on less than $2 a day. That's an astonishing 9% of the world's population. In many developed countries, income inequality continues to rise, leaving the gap between the affluent and the impoverished wider than ever. In the United States alone, over 37 million people live in poverty, struggling to provide their families with basic needs.
The root causes of poverty are multifaceted, involving economic instability, lack of education, unemployment, and systemic inequalities. But, we can act and implement solutions that help eradicate this pervasive issue.
