The Issue

For 35,000 years, my ancestors and I, the TSOYAHA indigenous people, have called this land our home. Since time immemorial, before the arrival of Christopher Columbus and others, we have lived, thrived, and carried forward the legacy of our people in Africa. My nationality, YUCHI, also known as TSOYAHA, symbolizes a rich heritage deeply connected to the soul of this land. It is not mere territory, but the very essence of our existence, passed down through countless generations.

However, a quiet and insidious injustice is threatening our heritage—paper genocide, falsification of records, and false land contracts are erasing the rights and identities of indigenous peoples like us. This profound injustice is not only wiping out our identities but also putting me and my community in financial straits. We are being forced to pay for utilities and various costs on our own ancestral lands, which rightfully belong to us.

The history and legacy bestowed on us by our ancestors are being jeopardized by fraudulent practices that aim to undermine our existence and ownership. These practices are a form of ethnic erasure, reducing our presence to mere statistics on paper rather than the flesh-and-blood descendants of the land’s original inhabitants.

**It's time for unity and action.** We must stand together against paper genocide. The falsification of records and illegal land contracts must be stopped, restored to reflect the truth of our heritage. We demand our rights to be classified rightly as the indigenous custodians of these lands.

In making this stand, we call upon international bodies, human rights organizations, and governments to recognize and intervene against these injustices. Legal protections and verifications must be put in place to safeguard the rights of indigenous peoples and ensure the preservation of their history and rights.

Join us in this fight to protect our identity, heritage, and rightful ownership. Sign this petition to end paper genocide and restore the recognition and rights of the TSOYAHA people. Every signature counts towards preserving a millennia-old legacy and protecting the rightful heirs of their ancestral lands. Stand with us today.
