After living in building 45 at Ridgeview Condominiums for my whole life (17 years) I can confidently say the people who own these buildings do NOT care about what we have to live with on the inside nor out. Instead of fixing up the park, tennis court and pool, they decided to instead let the tennis court get taken over by nature, take down the park & fill the pool with dirt. Not only that but me and my mother had recently discovered mold in my bedroom closet, caused by the overflow of water from the boiler room next door. Not only was there mold in my bedroom but also in the kitchen ceiling and bathroom ceiling. Now when they had these people come to gut our walls and dry everything up, they did not have a time period or even a date as to when they'd be done with this process. It has been over a week and we are now dealing with cockroaches as well as the leaking in the kitchen and holes in our walls now. The upstairs neighbor clearly told me they could hear everything and see into our shower (hence the hole these people made in our bathroom ceiling.) My mother asked her insurance to get us a hotel but since we didn't cause this damage, the insurance will not cover it. My mom asked the association to get us somewhere to stay, they redirected her to her landlord saying it would be up to him to get us somewhere to stay. My mom asked our landlord, he doesnt think thats his issue because he doesnt "own" our unit, he just "manages" our unit. I start school in about 2 weeks and all my clothes are in bags, there are bugs such as roaches and gnats running in and out of these hallways. The association has money to put up cameras in the hallway but not fix the front door which cant close, meaning anyone or anything can come inside. All I want is for someone to take responsibilty as this isnt our property either. This situation thus far has been dehumanizing and I believe if enough of these landlords & tenants came together, we could take down the association, or even just be heard by the association and make a change. All I'm asking for is CHANGE, thank you.
