There are around 30,000+ MyKas holders in Malaysia. These are people that are born here in Malaysia but are not recognised as Malaysian citizens. They carry a temporary identification card, MyKas and must be renewed every 5 years. 

Right now, the Malaysian government has not offered any solutions to solve this matter and many have been living with MyKas for more than 20+ years. Imagine being denied a citizenship even though you are born in that country. 

Most MyKas holders are treated as an outsider hence, they need to pay full price for education (they need to go to private colleges and must pay the International Student price), for healthcare (they are not entitled to the amazing healthcare benefits we, as citizens, get to enjoy). They also can't travel outside of Malaysia.Some can't find work due to some employers does not recognise MyKas as a form of IC.

For a MyKas holder husband to get a PR IC, he must apply a passport and a spouse visa and wait 6-7 years for a PR IC even though he is born in Malaysia :(
