The Issue

In Farmington, Missouri, residents like myself have started to see the troubling impacts of mosquito fogging in our beloved community. This practice is wreaking havoc on the local ecosystem, particularly affecting bees, butterflies, and other crucial pollinators essential for our gardens and crops. Such chemicals do not just kill mosquitoes, but also harm the insects necessary for pollination, threatening our beautiful gardens and the very basis of our food chain.

In addition to impacting pollinators, these pesticides also carry the risk of contaminating our water sources and permeating into our home gardens, posing a potential health risk to families who consume home-grown produce. It's a rising concern that many families like mine are deeply disturbed by, as we've chosen to grow our own food to avoid harmful chemicals.

Residents of Farmington are coming together to call for a stop to this harmful process. Alternatives to chemical fogging do exist, including natural mosquito-repellent plants and safer biological control measures that target mosquitoes specifically without affecting our critical pollinators. Other towns have successfully adopted integrated pest management techniques that effectively manage mosquito populations without unnecessary damage to the environment.

We urge local Farmington authorities to halt mosquito fogging and explore environmentally safe alternatives to protect our fragile ecosystem and safeguard the health of our community. It's time to embrace methods that conserve our natural surroundings while ensuring comfort and safety for all residents.

Join us in our call to action. Please sign this petition to demand that Farmington take immediate steps to end mosquito fogging and adopt ecologically-friendly practices.
